Musician behind Vietnam war protest hit I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-To-Die Rag dead from Parkinson’s complications, his wife confirms “Country Joe” McDonald, a hippy rock star of the 1960s whose protest track I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-To-Die Rag rebuked the Vietnam war and became a highlight of the Woodstock music festival, died on Sunday. Officers given stop-and-search powers and helicopters deployed on Bonfire Night amid reports of firework-related crime
Police have said they are responding to incidents of disorder “across Edinburgh” on Bonfire Night – with groups of youths hurling fireworks, bricks and other missiles.
Officers have been given stop-and-search powers after “intelligence” relating to planned disorder and firework-related crime in the Moredun, Niddrie and Gracemount areas of the capital.
